Conference Venue

Getting to Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus.

The MeCCSA 2014 conference will take place in Kimmeridge House on Talbot Campus. Opened in 2011, Kimmeridge House includes a large lecture theatre seating 308 delegates, a smaller one with 68 seats and first floor seminar spaces that can be divided up or opened out to suit different sizes. The adjacent Marconi Lecture Theatre seats 210 people.

Talbot Campus campus is located two miles from Bournemouth’s centre and is home to the majority of our academic Schools, the Sports and Recreation Centre and the Student Village.

By Bus

There will be a dedicated shuttle bus service operating throughout the duration of the conference, taking delegates to and from the Carlton Menzies Hotel to the conference venue.

You can also use the standard university service bus during your stay in Bournemouth to commute between the town centre and Talbot Campus. The university service bus that passes through the town centre is the U1. Full details of the university bus service can be found on the University bus website.

Finally, Bournemouth Yellow Buses operate a service across the town that includes services to Talbot Campus (the number 6 bus). For Bournemouth Yellow Buses timetables and maps, visit the ByBus website.

By Car

Talbot Campus can be reached from the North or the East via the A338 (locally known as the Wessex Way). Take the exit at the Richmond Hill Roundabout (next to the Zurich Insurance tower) and then follow the signs for the University.

From the West on the A35 follow the signs to Bournemouth (A3049), taking the dual-carriageway (Dorset Way) past Tower Park. Talbot Campus is located on the A3049 (Wallisdown Road).

Parking on the Talbot Campus is limited and the car park is pay and display.
